Then I said "Thank you God for this brain you have given to me".

Yesterday I was feeling very troubled about something: I didn't like the way things were arranged in my room.

Understand that although I am not a perfectionist, I love things being in place, even the tiniest sticky note has to go where it fits on the wall. So its only natural that my mind not be at peace until I had rearranged my room to my satisfaction...

So I decided to move things (including a very, very heavy bed) around. After lot of crawling, dragging, pushing, grunting, sweating, roughly two hours later, I looked upon my work and it was good! I kid you not, I did a great job!

Then I said in my heart, without thinking "Thank you God for this brain you have given me".

In that moment, I realized what I had just done; I had just given glory to God for a simple task.

Its easy to give God glory for things beyond our understanding, like giving birth to a child without a womb. How about things we can do for ourselves like studying for an exam and coming off in flying colors? Or perhaps choosing a clothing items that looks really good on us, evoking nice compliments from people?

Truth is, there are many things that we can do without having to fast and pray for seven days to get direction. Don't get me wrong, why do you think we have a mind? Or do you say, "Dear Lord Jesus, its cold outside...should I wear something to keep me warm?"

However, in all these, we shouldn't forget to give glory to God. The credit doesn't belong to us, it belongs to God. If he didn't give us the abilities, we wouldn't be able to do anything! If he didn't give us a brain, we wouldn't be able to think anything. Whether you eat or drink, stand or sit, speak or keep quiet, in sleeping and waking, in everything, try not to take the credit, instead, give thanks to God. I'm sure it brings a smile to His face.

Remember that in Him we live, move and have our being.
